Right as I started to get comfortable being a teenager, my 20s hit me.
Twenty is a really boring age. Nothing exciting happens, but everything scary and awkward happens. At 18, I was allowed to vote. Next year, I’ll be allowed to legally drink (although why that’s exciting, I’ll never know.)
This year though, all I get is the scary realization that I am now really an adult. I no longer get the cushy “teen” at the end of my age, that signifies that I’m still at least sort of a kid. Now it’s just twenty.
And so I begin the awkward years where I’ll probably struggle a lot and feel confused and uncertain, but eventually, hopefully, I’ll figure out what I want to do with my life and learn how to pay taxes. Here we go.
